February is National Heart Month

On February 2nd, National Wear Red Day, Valir hosted its first Heart Walk Challenge encouraging employees to both wear red and get their blood pumping by walking a short 1/2 mile course around the Rehabilitation Hospital Campus.

According to the CDC, heart disease is the leading cause of death in the US.

More than 600,000 Americans die of heart disease each year. That’s one in every four deaths in this country.

The term “heart disease” refers to several types of heart conditions, and heart disease symptoms depend on what type of heart disease you have. (Mayo Clinic)
